Hardware and Software
At SSCL we have a range of hardware and software options for your film making projects
- Rodecaster Pro Podcast Studio - use this for voice overs, multi-track recording etc. Bookings via the icentre
- iOgraphy Studio. Use an iPad with add on mics, lighting and tripod. Bookings via the icentre
- Leichhardt Media filming kit. A selection of video cameras, mics etc available for booking from English Dept
- Touchcast studio. An iPad app for that allows you to edit in real time. it has a range of preset green screen features including a news studio
- Adobe Premier Pro or Adobe Premier Elements. Available for download (free via DoE) or on our Media Laptops
- Adobe Audition. Available for download (free via DoE) or on our Media Laptops
Getting to know the equipment
ROTATION 1:
Rodecaster Pro Podcast Studio Use the video to help you to set up the Rodecaster ready for recording. Put together the mixing desk, two mics and headphones. Listen to the pre-set audio tracks At the end of the rotation, pull it apart again for the next group. ROTATION 2:
Use the T4L video to assemble the iOgraphy studio ready for filming (skip the part with the green screen (approx 1 min into the video), we have a green screen wall)
Add light and mic
Do a test recording using TOUCHCAST STUDIO (see the tutorial about this app below)
At the end of the session, pull it apart again for the next group.

Dive deeper into ADOBE AUDITION

For practice, assemble several media assets: save an MP3 Music track and one or two sound effects (SFX). Use the mic on the laptop to record a narration track. Add your sound tracks and try to use some simple Audition tools. Save your track as an MP3.
