Explain the impacts of law or tradition on women's experience in a country of your choice
For this topic you will need to conduct an 'Advanced Search' with a string of KEYWORDS to assist you to find the information you need.
1. Choose your country. You might like to look at the SBS Cultural Atlas to help you make your choice
2. Decide whether you will focus on 'Law' or 'Tradition' to answer your statement or question
3. You will need to make some choices about what issues you wish to discuss in your response. You will be helped by understandings gained from the in-class case study of Saudi Arabia.
4. Create a brainstorm of issues you know and need to know for your particular country
5. Formulate a search strategy
Some examples of the search strategies you might choose:
(Chosen Country) + 'women' + 'impact' + (cultural tradition eg marriage, social status, education, health, work)
(Chosen Country) + 'women' + 'impact' + law + (issue eg marriage, work, domestic violence)
In an advanced search you may also limit your results by nominating a date range for your search to gain either historic data or more up to date information as you need.
